
On-site individual or group training for health care professionals seeking:
- Certification in Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction Biofeedback through the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA)
- To establish and develop an incontinence program using surface EMG biofeedback and other behavioral interventions*
- Training workshops providing an all encompassing rehabilitation program for treating elimination disorders and pelvic pain using behavioral intervention and biofeedback modalities*
- Serving as a mentor for applicants pursuing BCIA certification in Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction Biofeedback (18 contact hours required)
- Consultation related to treatment of patients, program set-up, and marketing/business plan development

- Understand incontinence definitions, symptoms, prevalence, risk factors, and interventions being used
- Identify anatomy of the pelvic floor musculature and describe its role in urinary and fecal incontinence
- Identify various aspects of the conservative approach to the treatment of urinary and fecal incontinence
- Understand biofeedback principles, procedures, and application
- Assess pelvic floor dysfunction including the use of vaginal and rectal surface EMG
- Assist in designing treatment plans for bowel and bladder disorders and pelvic pain syndromes using a variety of modalities (biofeedback, relaxation, behavioral modification, diet, etc.)
- Learn biofeedback and behavioral strategies used to treat men and women
- Discuss referral sources, marketing, and business plan development
- Provide incontinence questionnaires, evaluations, daily treatment plans, home exercise programs, educational handouts, and billing information

- Daily rate of $950 for on-site visit (not including travel expenses)
- Mentoring for BCIA certification - $75 per hour
